The material cost of building the connector is reduced significantly by utilizing special alloy wires in place of gold-plated or silver wire. This together with the ability of Z-Axis manufacturing to adjust the pitch of the wires and control their positioning allows for low-cost Customized Connectors elements which are tailored to mate with flat electroluminescent display, or LED contacts.
The connectors are solderless connectors, withstand shock and vibration and can be obtained in a wide range of mechanical tolerances.
